Spiral Vase Gasket
Spiral Wound Gasket consists of a combination of filler metal and materials (typically stainless or rich carbon steel) that are generally metal outlets in a circular helix (other shapes). It is also possible (with fillers) (generally a flexible graphite) in the same way, but starting from the opposite side. These results act as an sealing element in alternating layers of metal and fillers.
This type of gasket has a layer of stainless steel and a filler layer of asbestos or Teflon or graphite, which is compressed with a V-shaped cross section. (The V-shaped section makes these gaskets withstand more pressure.) The thickness of this type of gasket is the same for all sizes and classes. These gaskets are composed of a combination of wire-shaped metal and soft filler material.

The shape of these gaskets has a great effect on sealing when they are compressed between two flanges. These types of pads may have an inner ring or an outer ring, the inner ring of which reduces the amount of corrosion of the flange and protects the sealing components, and the outer ring is used for the correct installation of the pad.

Features of Spiral Vand Washers:
1- Due to the use of several consecutive rings of metal tape that is wrapped with a middle strip (filler), spiral washers have a very good sealing ability.

2- By choosing the right material for metal tape and filler tape, the spiral washer covers all industrial applications up to a pressure of 200 bar and a temperature range of -200 to +1000 degrees Celsius and a variety of chemical environments.

3- Depending on the conditions of the washer installation environment (temperature, pressure, etc.), metal strip made of stainless steels (Stainless Steel 304 316 321), copper, nickel or titanium is selected. Filler tape is also selected from graphite, Teflon, ceramic or refractory materials as needed.

4- Due to their good elasticity, spiral washers are very resistant to vibration, heat shock and pressure shock.

5- Ease of installation is one of the prominent features of spiral washers. Due to the lack of glue when assembling these gaskets, it is very easy to replace and replace spiral gaskets. Spiral washers have no destructive effect on flange surfaces.
