WHAT IS IML?

IML or In-Mold Labeling means
production
within the same mold labeling
injection  or thermoforming or5 blow moulding . In the package produced with this method,
label is an integral part of the body. This method has many advantages
over the conventional labeling methods such as direct printing on
packaging, adhesive back labels, shrink film and other traditional
methods.

In the process of manufacture of package by IML, the labels produced
with polymer materials similar or compatible with the material of
package and then transferred into the mold by robot an then extruded
plastics injection process takes place. Thus, with the help of the
molten material, labels and plastic package are integrated with each
other, so that labels can no longer be separated from the body of
package. The main difference between conventional labels and IML labels
is that conventional labels on the surface of the plastic package using glue but
IML labels becomes a part of the package.
