In both grades, 304 and 316 steel alloys have a high percentage and relatively equality of chromium with a percentage between 17-18% and a high percentage of nickel Ni with a percentage of about 8%. Perhaps the most important and obvious difference between the two grades of stainless steel 304 and 316 is the presence of 2% of the metal element molybdenum with the chemical symbol Mo.
