PU industrial belts
One of the most widely used polymer chemical compounds in the production of industrial polyurethane belts is PU. Polyurethane has lower density and specific weight than natural rubber and metal and higher strength than plastic. The thermal resistance of polyurethane, which is useful in the temperature range of -80 to 200 degrees Fahrenheit, equivalent to -62 to 94 degrees Celsius, is one of the main reasons for the use of these polymer compounds in the production of industrial belts. Adding some other polymers can even increase the thermal capability of polyurethane belts up to 149 degrees Celsius.
In addition to thermal and abrasion resistance, the chemical resistance of polyurethane in contact with corrosive substances is another reason for the main use of this chemical in the production of industrial belts. The chemical resistance of polyurethane varies between polyurethane formulations. In general: polyester type polyurethane is more resistant to oils, solvents, acids and weak bases. And polyether polyurethane is more resistant to water exposure. We can test to replicate your application environment.
PU industrial belts are used widely in industries. most timing belts are made of PU.
