Hollow shaft gearbox and advantages

There are different ways to connect a gearbox to an electric motor. some gearboxes are connected using couplings and some gearboxes are manufactured as hollow shaft.
Hollow shaft gear boxes have a hole in their shaft and therefore are easier and more cost efficient than usual gearboxes. Screw gearboxes, planetary gearboxes and bevel gearboxes can all be produced as hollow shaft.
